This course is taught by Ian Phillips BSc, MSc who has over 30 years of training experience within the Armed Forces. He is a Suicide First Aid (SFA) Associate Tutor for National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education and Training and an active Shout Crisis Line Volunteer. This course teaches what mental health is and how to challenge stigma, it provides a basic knowledge of some common mental health issues. It is also an introduction to looking after your own mental health and wellbeing. The course will give you the confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue. The course guarantees an insightful and enjoyable half day course delivered via online video conferencing, learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. All delegates will receive a Mental Health Aware Certificate.
