At the heart of Mental Health First Aid England® is the pride of being an MHFAider® - individuals who play a crucial role in supporting mental health within workplaces and communities. Our new membership badge for the Association of Mental Health First Aiders®, launching in just a few days, is more than just a title. It represents a commitment to positive change, a connection to a powerful community, and a source of pride for everyone who wears it.

The pride of being an MHFAider

For members of the Association, the new badge is a reminder of their invaluable contribution to creating supportive environments where mental health is prioritised. The Association of Mental Health First Aiders fosters a community dedicated to creating safer spaces for conversations about mental health. It gives members the tools, confidence, and support they need to make a real difference.

According to our recent MHFAider Insights Survey, which gathered input from the entire MHFAider community, 98% of MHFAiders are proud to be an MHFAider with MHFA England®. This pride underscores the importance of their work in shaping healthier, more inclusive workplaces (1). Whether offering a listening ear, connecting someone to professional help, or simply being a compassionate presence, MHFAiders are making a lasting impact every day.
The power of community and collective impact

The MHFAider community is driving change that goes far beyond individual contributions. Together, members of the Association are transforming mental health support within countless organisations, helping to build workplaces where people feel safe discussing mental health and seeking help when needed. This collective effort is reshaping the mental health landscape, fostering more inclusive and supportive spaces for everyone.

Our 2024 Insights Survey also found that 94% of MHFAiders believe they’re challenging mental health stigma, encouraging more open and honest conversations. And with 83% of MHFAiders using their skills at least once a month, they’re not just trained – they’re actively supporting others and making a real difference in their workplaces.
Celebrating the badge: Share your role and inspire others

Next week, we’re inviting all Association members to proudly display their badge on social media. Sharing your badge is a chance to celebrate your achievements and showcase the collective strength of our inclusive community. By posting your badge, you’re not only highlighting your commitment to mental health – you’re inspiring others to join this movement for change.
