Mental Health Awareness Week is run by the Mental Health Foundation. In 2025 it takes place from 12 May – 18 May. The theme is ‘Community’, and it will celebrate the power and importance of community.

Being part of a safe, positive community can be vital for our mental health and wellbeing. People and workplaces thrive when there are strong connections between teams. Communities can provide a sense of belonging, safety, support, and give us a sense purpose.

A strong community of Mental Health First Aiders or Champions can transform the culture of your organisation and should be a key component of any mental health and wellbeing strategy.

What is MHFA England doing to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week?

We will be creating and sharing a range of free resources with tips and ideas on how workplaces can build community to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of their people.

To make it as easy as possible for you to get involved, we’ve created a simple toolkit. Use these five daily prompts to help raise awareness, spark connection, and inspire action in your workplace.
