Following World Mental Health Day (WMHD), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England CEO, Poppy Jaman, shares her thoughts in a blog for Director of Finance on what employers in the financial services sector can do to support wellbeing in the workplace.

Poppy discusses some of the key outputs of the Mental Health at Work Report 2017 and its finding that employment in the financial sector is 44% more likely to lead to stress-related illnesses than the average job in the UK.

She also looks at the work of mental health initiatives having an impact in the City including Thrive London, ‘This is me – in the City’ and the impact of Mental Health First Aid at EY.

In closing Poppy highlights the Workplace Wellbeing Toolkit launched by MHFA England around WMHD to support employers in developing mentally healthy workplaces.
