Personal Details

I have previously built and had hands-on running of a group of companies, diversifying my business interests through property, health, publishing, marketing, transportation and catering.

Work Experience

In 2017 during research for a semi-autobiographical book on adolescent mental health, I initiated a collaboration with the University of Suffolk’s Students’ Union and Student Life was born. The project has grown phenomenally to registered charity status and now partners with over 100 schools, colleges, alternative provision settings and prisons. The Charity has become multi award winning, both regionally and nationally and is supported by some of the most well known organisations, businesses & education provisions in the UK.

Our unique project ‘Unlock My Life’ sees us collaborating with prisons and YOIs in the south and north, over mental health awareness, suicide prevention and early intervention. Our first award nomination for this work followed in 2022.

Qualifications

In 2019, I qualified as an instructor for Mental Health First Aid England and Training For Life launched. This non-profit training organisation offers MHFAEngland courses to those working with young people and for MHFAider certification in the community/workplace. All profit from training is reinvested into mental health awareness projects. In 2021, I became an instructor for the National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education & Training and these courses were added to Training For Life’s portfolio.
