Personal Details
Hi! My name is Mike O'Hara and I am proud to be a Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
I am currently qualified to deliver the two day Adult version of the course, but keen to upskill moving forward.
My background is in the military, having served in the Royal Air Force since 2009. I am passionate about all things training and development - there is no better feeling that helping somebody learn something new.
With lived experience of mental health challenges, I am able to personalise my training and enhance the learning journey. I am wholly committed to supporting others, spreading awareness and reducing stigma around mental health.
In 2019, I co-founded Start Within. Delivering bespoke training and expert consultancy in the workplace, Start Within focuses on employee wellbeing through a 'people first' approach.

I live in Bedfordshire with my beautiful wife Abbey and my greyhound, Pat. I enjoy walking, reading and watching football.

Skilled in programme management, development, quality assurance, organisation and delivery. Over 10 years experience in operational intelligence analysis for the Royal Air Force.
Working hard to reduce stigma surrounding mental health. Qualified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, committed to empowering others through high-quality training and facilitation. Proud to volunteer with Mind BLMK, helping those in recovery through mentoring and peer support.
