Personal Details
Chris is passionate about improving knowledge in relation to mental health and reducing stigma and discrimination.
Chris runs his own training and consultancy business in the Midlands. He was a senior police officer for over 30 years and has extensive experience in managing people in often pressurised situations. During his time in the police he became a national lead in respect of missing persons and was also involved in developing joint working with mental health services and with local providers improved awareness and knowledge around mental health issues. After a spell as a Head of Service for a social housing provider in the East Midlands Chris started providing resilience and confidence training to organisations and individuals. This included delivering workshops to over 2,000 young people in the summer of 2017 and 2018 on the National Citizen Service programme, as well as delivering courses to organisations as diverse as British Gas and the Caldecott Foundation.
Since June 2020 Chris has been a 'SHOUT' textline crisis volunteer and regularly supports those needing mental health assistance through the national textline.
Work Experience
Chris is an experienced Adult, Youth and Higher Education MHFA Instructor and has delivered the two, one day and half day courses to organisations, industry, schools, colleges and youth workers across the country. His sector experience includes delivering the 1 and 2 Day Courses to over 200 leaders, managers and staff of a major UK manufacturer. Chris has also delivered the Adult course to the NHS, police, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, the insurance sector, the transport sector, the online retail sector, the information technology (IT) sector, and many more. He has delivered the Youth courses to numerous schools, colleges and academy trusts. As well as being an Associate trainer with MHFA England he is also an Associate trainer with Student Minds, delivering the Higher Education Course in numerous Universities.
