Personal Details
CEO and founder of the award-winning beginner running club, the #MileShyClub, Jane has worked within fitness and mental health for the last few years, recognising the intrinsic link between social prescribing and the way exercise makes us feel that bit happier! She is particularly involved in disability fitness and works with a range of people with disabilities, helping them access mainstream provision.
Working within the community, and a passionate advocate of getting people healthy, both physically and mentally, Jane still holds the title of Greater Manchester’s Coach of the Year from 2018! She has appeared on BBC Sport, been featured in Runners World, and regularly gives talks to a variety of people – BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Manchester and Trafford Council to name a few!
Jane qualified as a mental health first aid instructor because she is a big believer in the course content and the great many benefits it will bring to those that undertake the programme. You will often find her courses more cost-effective than others on the market, but this is simply because Jane feels with the recent move to online delivery, the savings on hiring a venue should be passed to delegates.
Work Experience
Jane’s background is in law, where she worked for many years in management for companies such as Eversheds Sutherland, Thomas Cook and Pets at Home. With years of presenting experience, Jane is well suited to delivering the course to a wide range of delegates and is excellent at facilitating discussion and encouraging participation.
Quotes from participants and clients:
“Jane kept us engaged for the entirety of the session, speaking openly and honestly about the mental health issues that affect so many of us, yet cause us to live in silence.”
“What I liked best about Jane’s delivery was her knowledge on the subject of mental health – she’s clearly well-read and has done her research!”
“Jane’s training provided excellent value for money, and has given us the skills and confidence to help those with mental health issues in the workplace.”
