Personal Details
I decided to train as a MHFA instructor because I had heard and seen so many people experiencing poor mental health and not receiving the support they needed or deserved. When I found out about the courses MHFA England ran, I thought it was a brilliant idea to provide people with the core skills and confidence to initially support others. It's incredible to hear the impact this course has for people, knowing that we can all help each other, listen and be open. I believe everyone can change and achieve their goals. My passion is to facilitate new thinking in individuals, support them in making an impact for themselves and their wider organisation/network. I have worked as a coach since graduating from university, built my coaching business working in contexts such as, education, prison, NHS, and corporate.
Work Experience
I began coaching in 2015, working with individuals to help them develop their emotional intelligence, enhance confidence, develop better communication skils, and achieve great personal and professional development. I coach leaders to effectively lead their teams and manage their own personal success, and work with individuals who want support for their personal development such as building confidence, overcoming barriers to their success and making positive changes. I also work as an associate coach for charities and projects that help those who may not ordinarily be able to access coaching, such as coaching in prisons, schools and PRU's. This is a part of my work which enables me to actively support those who can significantly develop through this approach, and is a highly rewarding experience.
Alongside MHFA training, I deliver training in coaching skills to managers and leaders within the corporate sector and in the public sector such as the NHS. I also create and deliver bespoke workshops on areas such as wellbeing and resilience, to support individuals in managing their general mental wellbeing in a positive way.
I qualified as a Mental Health First Aid instructor in 2018 delivering the 2-day Adult course and love working with delegates to help them develop knowledge, skills and confidence to support others. Having a degree in Counselling Psychology, my interest has always been in mental health, understanding how we can support and help others.
