Personal Details
Hello
My name is Karen and I am an experienced therapist and Mental Health First Aid Instructor. I am committed to reducing the stigma around poor mental health and my work with MHFA England and my clients allows me to do this.
With a long history of my own mental ill health, I bring a wealth of personal experience to my training, giving delegates a real insight into how mental health issues can affect an individual. I also have extensive experience in a training environment and my courses are always very well received.
Work Experience
My work as a therapist with a special interest in trauma based anxiety and pain has given me a great insight into the link between mental and physical health. By addressing mental ill heath, you can have a huge, positive impact on physical ill health too.
Poor mental health still carries a stigma preventing people who are experiencing mental distress from talking about their issues and getting help early. Early intervention has been shown to be hugely beneficial in securing a successful, positive outcome.
I am an experienced instructor and trainer and bring a very personal touch to the MHFA courses I host.
Qualifications
I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Brain Working Recursive Therapy practitioner. I have certificates in CBT, NLP, EMDR and a whole host of other therapies. I am a member of a number of professional bodies including the Complimentary and Natural Heathcare Council (CNHC), General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and the British Brainworking Research Society (BBRS). I study extensively to ensure my skills are current but more importantly, I study to ensure that my knowledge on mental health issues are at the forefront of current thinking and research.
