Tailored mental health training for the NHS

Different sectors. Unique challenges. Tailored training options that suit

For managers and teams to work at their best, creating an inclusive environment to support their wellbeing, while driving performance, is crucial. Yet in high-pressure environments, employees can struggle to find the right support, while stress and burnout impact productivity, increase staff turnover, and threaten long-term success.

We recognise that no two sectors face the same pressures, which is why our mental health training is tailored to the unique realities of the NHS. Our sector-specific training gives leaders and teams the tools to build resilience, support wellbeing, and create a culture where people can thrive – because when your people are well, your organisation performs at its best – ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. By equipping managers and teams within the NHS with the tools to recognise poor mental health and create supportive working environments, organisations can protect wellbeing, improve retention, and reduce the impact of long-term sickness absence.

Our courses are designed to teach people to recognise the signs of poor mental health, start supportive conversations, and signpost to help. By investing in training, you’ll be giving your people the skills and confidence to have conversations about mental health and encourage staff to seek early support. It's this early intervention which aids recovery.

Why it matters

As the UK’s largest employer, the NHS has a duty to support the wellbeing of its people, as well as its patients. With this comes unique pressures that affect both clinical and non-clinical staff. Long and irregular shifts, heavy workloads, and the constant strain of balancing operational demands with patient and staff responsibilities can take its toll on wellbeing. These challenges also extend far beyond frontline roles – administrative and support teams also face intense pressures that can lead to stress, fatigue, and burnout. It’s clear that supporting staff is critical.

In the NHS, chronic stress and burnout are widespread: NHS staff are 50% more likely to experience chronic stress than the general population. Nearly one third of staff report burnout, and 40% feel unwell due to work-related stress each year – affecting wellbeing, performance and directly affecting patient care and operational efficiency. These pressures are compounded by soaring demand and record high waiting lists – with over 180,000 patients waiting more than a year for treatment – placing additional strain on staff.

Our sector-specific training for the NHS boosts your managers and teams’ confidence, empowering them to tackle stress and stigma where it’s felt most. By equipping your people with the right training and support, you can give them the time, tools, and training to do their job well and support others.
