Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England's Leadership Team said,

“We share in the anger, sadness and pain at the brutal and unjust murder of George Floyd and others before him. His senseless killing speaks to the enduring Institutional Racism faced by Black People - on and off camera - every day around the world.

“Racism and discrimination have an untold and corrosive impact on mental health. They deepen health inequalities across communities. They create fear, anxiety and distrust. And they erode the sense of wellbeing that so many of us enjoy and take for granted.

“Mental Health First Aid England stands in solidarity with Black Communities and Black Lives Matter. We call on everyone to take responsibility for playing their part in dismantling Institutional Racism in our personal and professional lives.

“As a Social Enterprise we are thinking hard about what we need to do within our organisation and how we can better support the mental health of Black/BAME communities in partnership with Black-led organisations. If you want to find out more or have ideas about this please do get in contact."
