Personal Details
I am currently self employed and an approved instructor in ;MHFA Adult, Youth MHFA, and Armed Forces MHFA. ;MHFA and Youth MHFA Lite , and Youth MHFA for schools and colleges. I am also a National Trainer for;MHFA England ;in MHFA adult, Youth MHFA and Armed Forces MHFA, ;as well as an Associate for ;MHFA England. I have been involved with MHFA in England since its beginnings in 2007.
i qualified as a Suicide First Aid Tutor in 2021
i qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1988 and worked for the NHS in mental; health settings for the next 24years, becoming clinical lead for assertive outreach and recovery, before moving on to managerial roles and leading service transformation team. Since 2012; i have been self employed, delivering mental health training and consultency to many sectors of the business community
Work Experience
I previously worked as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS for over 24 years in a range of mental health specialties from children to older people in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Latterly in my NHS career I managed a range of services and led large scale transformation programmes.
I have developed a special interest in recovery and patient experience, using these to drive improvements and innovation in mental health services and supporting mainstream services and employers to improve their mental health knowledge and practices
Since self employment, I have delivered a range of mental health training in to the commercial and puiblic sector, both MHFA and bespoke mental health and wellbeing training.
i have also supported many commercial and NHS Groups leading on mental health themed work programmes: payment by results, mental health strategy development, crisis care concordat plans and implementation and developing recovery based parctise across organisations.
To date i have delivered over 500 MHFA courses
