Personal Details

I am a highly-qualified teacher and instructor with over fourteen years' experience in teaching, safeguarding and supporting vulnerable adults and children from diverse backgrounds.

Throughout my career and in my personal life I have repeatedly witnessed how the stigma associated with mental ill health can cause people to experience discrimination, preventing them from being supported on a personal and professional level and from accessing services essential to their recovery.

My aim is to create more awareness and understanding of wellbeing, mental health and illness, so that those in crisis are comfortable, confident and able to speak up and access the support they need to recover, as well as ensuring that an increasing number of people are equipped with the skills and resources to be there for someone in crisis.

I qualified as a Mental Health First Aider in 2015 as part of my CPD as a Safeguarding Rep; it boosted my confidence in initiating and holding difficult safeguarding conversations and supporting those experiencing poor mental health. It formed an important part of my professional and personal development and quickly became a newfound passion; this led me to specialise in mental health education.

I deliver both MHFA and Suicide First Aid training on behalf of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. I like to help people with a smile and work hard to ensure all attendees feel welcome, accommodated, and comfortable in the classroom.
