Financial Well Being Month 2024

Content warning: This page mentions suicide

We are excited to announce that we are again partnering with FinWELL Training Ltd and the R;pple Suicide Prevention Charity for #FinancialWellbeingMonth in April 2025.

During the month, we will be raising awareness about the importance of, and links between financial wellbeing, mental health, and suicide prevention.

This will involve various events, blogs, and resources covering various financial wellbeing topics, from menopause and money, bereavement, neurodiversity, financial control, and economic abuse, to the need for FinWELL Champions among leaders, managers, and Mental Health First Aiders.

Financial wellbeing and suicide prevention

Financial wellbeing and suicide prevention are closely linked. When people face financial stress and difficulties, their mental health can suffer. It is important to address financial wellbeing as part of preventing suicide.

Workplaces have an important role in normalising and educating people about how to have conversations about suicide. We are calling on employers to embed suicide awareness, prevention, and support into their mental health and wellbeing strategies. To support this, we have created a free resource, Five pillars of suicide prevention in the workplace.

Alongside awareness of specific support, guidance, and resources, we believe that suicide is preventable through broader training and education. That is why we have partnered with the National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education and Training to deliver Suicide First Aid training to workplaces.
