Emily Thompson-Bell
Emily’s career has focused on bringing together diverse groups of people, from community organisations to businesses and youth groups, to drive positive societal change. She has led impactful work on sustainability, mental health, and organisational development across a range of sectors.
Emily started her career working on environmental behaviour change campaigns to engage young people on climate change, going on to play a leading role in the award-winning Student Switch Off energy-saving programme. She managed the £5m HEFCE Students’ Green Fund, engaging over 120,000 young people in environmental and social sustainability projects at 25 different universities and colleges throughout England.
Emily has been with MHFA England since 2020 and led on the creation and implementation of a new QA framework and development programme for our Instructor Member community. As Director of Delivery Emily has responsibility for overall leadership of the Development, Communications & Campaigns and Membership & Customer Experience departments.
Emily holds a BA in Psychology and Philosophy from University of Reading, and an MSc in Sustainable Development, specialising in organisational development, from SOAS, University of London. She is also a Clore Social Leadership Fellow.
