Course overview

People managers can have a huge impact on the success and wellbeing of their teams. For almost 70% of people, their manager has as much impact on their mental health as their partner. And yet, with employees experiencing growing levels of work-related burnout and stress, people managers are under increasing pressure.

It's vital for managers to have the tools, time, and training necessary to support their teams' mental health. When people feel their mental health is supported at work, they can be more productive.

Delivered by our team of workplace mental health experts, this course is designed to help people managers understand the role they play in creating thriving and mentally healthy teams that perform at their best.

Personalise the course for your organisation

We can work with you to tailor and personalise course elements to meet your organisational needs and enhance the learning experience. At the beginning of the training, we provide context setting to ensure the course is relevant to your organisation.

This can include:

  • Organisation-specific language and terminology
  • Additional mental health knowledge
  • Setting specific learning outcomes

Tailoring the training to your organisation ensures the learning feels relevant, practical, and has a lasting impact.

In an emergency:

  • Call 999
  • Go to your nearest Accident and Emergency (A&E)

If you or someone else needs medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency:

  • Call 111 followed by option 2 (for mental health)

This is a free number to call. They can direct you to your local crisis support services and mental health organisations and offer health advice 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Samaritans are also there for you if you need to talk. You can call for free 24 hours a day, 365 days a year:

  • 116 123

If you’re looking for non-emergency advice and guidance, see our list of mental health support contacts

Course feedback

91% of people said they had a better understanding of mental health after our courses.

I really enjoyed this course, firstly because it was great to learn something new and different, and secondly because the Instructor Member was brilliant. It was very interactive and kept our attention the whole time over two days.

The course was hugely valuable. I have learnt things I have already been able to put into practice (successfully!) and will continue to use the tools and knowledge.
